Our ongoing support for St. Mary’s Ukrainian School

We are proud to continue our support for St. Mary’s Ukrainian School in Holland Park, with a recording of their school choir, thanks to the generosity of the Rugby Portobello Trust who have donated the use of their Amplify Studios.

Choir sings at Westminster Abbey

The St. Mary’s choir of Ukrainian refugee children performed at Christmas at Westminster Abbey for the royal carol service, personally invited by the Princess of Wales, as reported in various media,

Puppet Theatre at Kensington Palace

Karmabank held a puppet theatre making workshop with the children at Kensington Palace, and created a Christmas Card Making campaign as part of Mental Health Awareness Week. The children painted over 60 cards, which we helped the school sell for Christmas to raise funds and awareness of the children’s situation.

The future queen praised the children for their “courage”, describing the school choir as a “wonderful example of how to find pockets of happiness, meaning and comfort” in the face of a conflict.

Launch event around the coronation

We hope to hold a launch event for the recording around the time of the Coronation which takes place on May 6th. The recording is in part dedicated to our new King & Queen.
