Karmabank has supported refugee artists & artisans since 2022, helping artists to: study at the Slade; sell & show work during Frieze Week at the Saatchi Gallery & at the Other Art Fair; fulfill commissions for the UN’s International Office for Migration; and find work as art teachers, graphic artists and workshop facilitators. We also support better equality in the art world for local unsupported artists.

I live with the joy and possibility of one day at a time
Nataliia is an architect-artist by training & profession and graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts and Architecture in Kyiv. Her recent explosive artworks in her series “Feeling Here and Now” represent emotions, now impacted by the terrible destruction of her country. “Painting is my passion in life. I paint watercolours, graphics and interior abstractions. My life is currently very unstable, due to the fact that the usual way of life has collapsed for me with the outbreak of war that is going on in my country. I live with the joy and possibility of one day at a time. And my sense of gratitude for what I hear, see and speak to this world is what keeps me stable. The exchange of energy with the world. I allow myself to be present so that I don’t regret anything later.”
